switching in and out of bulk-logged mode

If a db is normally in full recovery mode and tran log backups are carried out at regular intervals, if the db is temporarily put into bulk-logged mode, are previouis tran log backups invalided – is point in time recovery lost? Also, once the db is put back into full recovery mode, are subsequent tran log backups in sequence and valid? Or is a full backup required immediately after being put back into full recovery mode? If you move from full to bulk-logged you stay in sync with the exception of loss on bulk-logged operations. If you move from simple to full or bulk-logged, you need to take a full backup and begin running transaction log backups from that point on. MeanOldDBA

The topic ‘Switching Recovery Models’ in BOL explains what actions needs to be taken when switching from one to another.
