temp db

hi all, i refer SQL SERVER MAGAZINE October 2005..i came with this doubt when i read an article on
IDENTIFYING PROCESSORS FOR TEMPDB SETTINGS. can any one give a brief note on logical processors and phisical procesors with respect to
number of tempdb files…?
