Tuning with Yukon

Just for fun and learn, I install Yukon Beta1 tools in new work station partition.
I have a lot of trace from my customers. I pick one customer trace and one user, about 100 rows.
I run Index Tunig Wizard SQL 2000 SP3 and finish with 0 recomendation. I print all informs that wizard give, most important indexs used. After that I run Index Tunig Wizard Yukon, and finish with 2 recomendations and 72% improve.
I repeat the two steps twice.
I analize recommendations, compare with availables indexs, see execution plan for some query and sound razonable to me to apply those new index, so I did it. I run ITW 2000 again, same trace, and finish with 0 recomendation, but now those new indexs are used againts others.
I run the application and run faster than before. So I get 5 users more with differents traces, and in 4 I get better performance with new indexs.
Is important to explain the following: ITW 2000 give me good results and works fine, in fact I have no complaint from my customers. Is not my idea to implementate what I find until final release, is just and experiment.

Yeah I beleive the hiuge response to first version in SQL 2K has made Microsoft make huge improvements in the same. Gaurav

Just a thought, between the execution of ITWs have you tried to refresh the SQL services which may give you the exact results. Though its on BETA and many spurious and astonishing results can be expected.
The ITW is enhanced by leaps and bound.
The hypothetical indexes are created by ITW during the analysis process it id doing. HTH Satya SKJ

Let me see if I follow you.
The experiment was:
Box server with SQL 2000 SP3 not Yukon.
One WS with SQL 2000 SP3 tools and other WS with Yukon tools.
After Yukon ITW finish I create a file with recommendations, read in Yukon SQL Analyzer, change some index name (just to indentify) and apply recomendations. No hinds, only Indexs. And I donÂ´t refresh SQL 2000 Services.
Should I refresh between ITW in any case?

Yes, I mean to say refresh the SQL services in between the ITW executions.
