unable to complete operation RPC server is unavail

I am getting this error connecting to even log also as I loged on i received this pop up warning: The Remote Procedure Call Failed and Did Not Execute Could someone help me , should i reboot SQL Server?
Check Event log for any other error about domain controller.
And how about service pack level on SQL & Windows?

We don’t have iis on that mashine. I have some thoughts but not sure if i am correct….
There is SQL server on that computer.
And also VB application .
Users connect to installation of this vb application on server throught
mapped drive ( looking at this server as application server) paging file is configured 1.9 and currently 1.2 G is used. Memory physical =1.3G but paging file is seted up to "optimize performance for " background services.
Should i set it up for "Aplication" instead .
Might this be a problem? I cannot monitor this server now….

Check for viruses. There are known viruses that take advantages of bugs in the RPC service and then you get errors like that. Could also happen if you have limited the number of RPC ports in the registry to be able to control traffic in firewalls. If so, try increase the range.
… and also logon locally on the server and go thru event viewer and SQL server error log for any other information. BTW if possible test and apply SP4 for Windows. Satya SKJ
