Upgrade: SQL 2000 Std x64 -> SQL 2005 Std x64

Hi Folks, I’ve consulted the following doc and the upgrade path SQL 2000 Std (x64) -> SQL 2005 Std (x64) is not mentioned: http://msdn2.microsoft.com/EN-US/library/ms143393.aspx Is my only option to downgrade SQL 2000 Std to 32-bit, upgrade that to SQL2005 Std & then migrate to 64-bit? Any advice appreciated. thanks,
Lesley
Are you doing the inplace (on the same server) upgrade?
If not just backup the databases and restore onto new server with sql 2005 64bit…. Are you sure you are on sql server 2000 std edition (x64)? because sql 2000 std edition support only 2GB memory… http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa274594(SQL.80).aspx MohammedU.

The referred link is still valid for X64 bit installation in this case, as the database options are not particular to 32 or 64 bit.
