VersionHi Is MS SQL SERVER 2000 and MS SQL SERVER 8 is the same? If someone says MS SQL SERVER 8, which MS SQL SERVER is referring? Please let me know. Thanks In advance. Nagesh
Yes, both are referred as same.
8.xxx.xxx is the version name and SQL Server 2000 is the business name represented by MS.
If you run SELECT @@VERSION from query analyzer the result would be: Microsoft SQL Server 2000 – 8.00.818 (Intel X86) May 31 2003 16:08:15 ……. HTH Satya SKJ
