What if tempdb gets deleted?

What happens if the tempdb database — which can’t be backed up — gets deleted?
Does Sql Server (2K) still work? How can it be recreated? Thank you
Eli
No chance of deletion of TEMPDB being its a system database, and spurious errors will be reported to the log. Satya SKJ

If the files were deleted while the SQL service is stopped, then no worries. SQL recreates tempdb every time it starts by copying over the model database (as per any database creation) Cheers

That’s a relief.
Thank you!
Ensure this never happens as this may lead to other spurious errors. Satya SKJ
