Will the coming SQL 2005 beat Oracle? [?]

Hi,<br /><br />Do you think the coming MS SQL 2005 will beat the Oracle badly?<br />Thanks for advice. [<img src=’/community/emoticons/emotion-11.gif’ alt=’8)’ />]<br /><br />Jason<br />
What do you mean? MS SQL 2005 introduce great features that were already present in Oracle 9i (e.g. partitioning). I am not familiar with newer Oracle version(s). I guess gap is closed enough that from now it depends more on marketing and business strategy.
What I want to know is, now that Oracle have taken over Peoplesoft, will they force PS users to migrate to Oracle for the next version!! Alarm!! Tom Pullen

Its a never ending debat on the terms of EVERYTHING between SQL Server and Oracle.
Moreover you will get more inclined response towards SQL Server rather than praising the Oracle’s capability. THis articlehttp://www.mssqlcity.com/Articles/Compare/sql_server_vs_oracle.htm refers the information required. I feel we should start this debate during Saturday evening for timepass. Satya SKJ
