Windows 2003 sp1 issue

Is not exactly a SQL question. I have the following hardware at my office (I’m free lance). 1 Pentium IV intel 2.8
512 RAM
2 disk IDE 80GB. (No ATA) When i was using Windows 2000 sp4 all works fine. Now, I begin to use fresh copy of Windows 2003 Enterprise Edition sp1.
No update, so I install all from the begining.
No domain, stand alone.
Also I install SQL 2000 EE sp4. My first restore (50GB) take 12 hours (2.74 MB/Sec).
To copy one 1.7 GB file from one drive to other take more than 30 minuts. In my laptop with one 100GB disk, take 5 minuts. I also flash with last bios, uninstall antivirus, etc. Nothing work. Any help?
