Frequent LS Restore errors

Hi, I’ve had log shipping running for some time now and every now and then the restore would fail. It seems to happen at around 9PM every other two or three days. I keep receiving this error: [Microsoft SQL-DMO (ODBC SQLState: 42000)] Error 4305: [Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][SQL Server]The log in this backup set begins at LSN 94119000000036500001, which is too late to apply to the database. An earlier log backup that includes LSN 9411900
In order to fix this, I have to restore the latest backup. Some specs on the systems: 1. Both servers run Windows 2003 Server Enterprise edition with SP1. 2. SQL Server 2000 with SP4. 3. Log Shipping copies occur every 7 minutes, over a VPN connection.
Does anyone know how to prevent this from happening? Thanks
Have you tried increasing the time gap to 10 mins from 7 mins, to see whether the restore process is getting completed. Also check whether any network related errors during filecopy having this slow process. Also check what kind of jobs are scheduled during 9PM, I suspect if there are any bulk load or load jobs that will make this log shipping process to throw this type of errors. Satya SKJ
