LSASS.exe vs SQL

Dear All I have some performance related problems in our clustered base server. Hardware configuration is Dual 1.4GHz Xeon processor wth 1GB RAM. I already been allocated the 512MB Memmory for SQL not dynamically and its working well.
but sometimes SQL2000 chewup the whole memory with the process of LSASS.exe. There are 80-100 concurrent user connected to the server. Let me know about LSASS.exe…..is it for security and authenticaton caz it uses more than 200MB mem and nothing to do. Advance thanks and appreciation Aman
