merge replication conflict resolution

Hi, I’m new to merge replication. My understanding is that the merge replication agent will automatically resolve the conflicts according to what has been configured (the default is that publisher wins and applys changes to subscribers) when it detects conflicts. The agent then writes loser’s change in the conflict table for a given article. Is this true? As a DBA, do we need to do anything to the rows in the conflict table? Will the rows be cleaned up by the agent after a while? Thanks in advance for any response!
