Mirroring/ clustering /replication

I was reviewing this interesting link about Disastor recovery strategies , I have some questions as listed below . 1. Does this apply to SQL server 2005 ? Has there been improvements in each strategy in sql server 2005 ? 2. About clustering is it necessary for both nodes to physicall present in same geographical location as the article suggests ? 3. Database Mirroring , how many minutes or seconds will it take to fail over ? Also I had a impression it was for data protection not failover , can Anyone explain this or point to the link which shows Architecture and Implementation details of database mirroring?
