Online Pending state

I have 2 questions in regard to SQL Clustering Errors that I get.<br /><br />1. Cluster Manager shows "Online Pending" state for SQL Server. I try to restart it, and still goes to Online Pending and later on probably Failed. <br /><br />The errors we are getting in event logs are as follows:<br /><br />Event Type:Error<br />Event Source:ClusSvc<br />Event Category:(204<img src=’/community/emoticons/emotion-11.gif’ alt=’8)’ /><br />Event ID:1145<br />Date:12/6/2005<br />Time:10:08:14 AM<br />User:N/A<br />Computer:WR2A<br />Description:<br />Cluster resource SQL Server (WRSQL) timed out. If the pending timeout is too short for this resource, then you should consider increasing the pending timeout value. <br />Data:<br />0000: b4 05 00 00 ´… <br /><br />Source: ClusSVC<br />Category: Services<br />EventID: 1069<br />Description: Cluster Resource "SQL Server" (WRSQL) failed.<br /><br />2. SQL was installed earlier for some other application to use it, but at present we do not use it at all. So, what are the steps to be followed in order to remove SQL server group from the cluster manager.<br />

Martin, Thanks for your reply. I am not sure whether you want me to take a look at the NLB part of it for the errors that are appearing in the event logs? thanks

Run the SQL Server setup to uninstall the instance.
Satya, Thanks for the info. I could not check the Service Pack version as the SQL server service is not running and I cannot run the Query Analyzer. Any other method to find out the service pack level. Also, I would like to remove the following from the cluster as I have never removed an application from the cluster before. sql 2000 disk (E) – online
sql IPAaddress1 – online
sql Network Name – online
sql server – online pending
sql server agent – online pending
sql server fultext – online pending What are the precautions that needs to be taken in order to remove it and how should I go about it? thanks,
Neil
May check SQL Server error log from the path where SQL server is installed.
I suggest there could be some resource problem, may try reinstalling the SQL Server for a clean refresh. http://www.sql-server-performance.com/q&a_clustering.asp & KBAhttp://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;290991&Product=sql2k fyi. Satya SKJ
