Performance issues on Windows Server 2003

Hi,
We have a very big issue in terms of performance using analysis service from the Office Web Component or Excel.
Basically all the process (when querying via excel or OWC) seems to occur on the local machine and not on the server. Having a look at the task manager on both systems shows the CPU usage at 100% on the client while it remains a flatline on the server. The page file usage gives the same behaviour.
I actually suspect this to be linked with the OS of the server (Windows Server 2003) since we did not experience those issues with 2000.
Any similar experience (and hopefully solution) would be very highly appreciated. Regards
Olivier
Dear Sir,
well a answer to your question about Excel or OWC …its client side querying server so it shows / occupies the memory at both the end … and have you installed all the lattest patch ?
and will you plz be a bit more specific .!!!
actually i have worked with Windows 2003 Enterprise Edition and SQL Server 2000 with SP3a installed , and dont have any issue. If you suspect some processess are consuming high resources on the server, then collecting the physical counters from PERFMON would help to assess the issue. On the other hand ensure to patch up the AS and Office applications with latest service pack and fixes. Satya SKJ
