Performance Tuning with SQL Server Dynamic Management Views

Performance Tuning with SQL Server Dynamic Management Views by Louis Davidson and Tim Ford. To the best of my knowledge it is the first book that focuses exclusively on DMOs. To make it clear right from the outset this is a  very good book! Not only does the reader learn how to use the DMOs to replace familiar oldies such as “sysprocesses”, but also how to gain new insights into things that were hard to get before SQL Server 2005, if possible at all such as information about the usage of indexes or where and why SQL Server is waiting for resources. These topics are very well covered in the book. Further topics cover spotting locking and blocking, analyzing index fragmentation, and investigating caching and execution plan re-usage. High-quality content, numerous code samples and a very attractive price make a purchase decision quite easy.
