Quorum Disk on SCSI RAID Array

Hi, I’m fairly new to the world of SQL Clustering. I just have a question regarding the location of the Quorum disk when installing SQL Server 2000 Enterprise on a two node cluster using a SCSI RAID Array. The RAID array is configured to RAID 5 (3 disks…1 logical drive). I’ve made two partitions on this drive, one for the quorum disk and one for the SQL Data. When I install SQL Server, I am getting a warning about installing with the group containing the quorum disk. My question is this…can I continue to use this group and ignore the warning because I am in a RAID 5 configuration or do I need to purchase 3 more disk drives for the array so I can have a separate drive for the Quorum disk also configured to RAID 5. Thanks in advance to any replies, Bob
You need to have two logical drives, one for the quorum drive, and the other for the SQL Server data. You can use the single physical array you have, as long as there are two logical drives. —————————–
