re-applying old logs – dangerous?

Hi all, Just a quick one for my first post – if I apply a transaction log backup which has already been applied to the database, will the transactions all get performed again or will SQL Server reject the duplicate transactions? Thanks in advance
Niall
Welcome to the forum!
No it will not be applied as there will be a mismatch of LSN, if you want to know more about it then take your time to read SQL server books online which is installed alongwith your client tools ro server installation about Transaction log Architecture. Satya SKJ

Hi Satya, Thanks for the welcome and the speedy reply! I will do some reading when i get a chance, we’ve been having some problems with a non-MS log shipping solution so I needed to change it quickly. Cheers
