Restore the DTS Package

Hi, I have a DTS package stored in "Local Packages". I now want to save the DTS Package in a text or VB file and I want to restore it in case of any necessity. I can save the DTS Package(Thru’ Design Package) as VB File. But can anyone help me in how to restore the VB File? Thanks in advance. Regards,

I have never tried to open dts package from vb file, but maybe right click on data transformation services node in EM and choosing ‘open’ option solves the problem.
If you want to save it as backup copy then open DTS in design mode and save it as structured Storage format file and then you can restore it whenever you need and you can even mail the file. To restore the file simply right click on Data Transformation Service option through EM and open the .dts file and save it on local machine or other SQL Server
