Restoring master db on Clustered Instance

We need to restore our master database (because of a bad SQL SP4) on a named instance which resides on a SQL Server Cluster. One of the requirements of restoring a master db is you need to set master in single-user mode. Unfortunately, I have been unable to set the master in single-user mode to restore the database. Note: I am posting in this forum because we don’t have this issue on our standard SQL Servers, only the SQL instances on our Cluster servers. The solution to this will have more to do with how to do this on a clustered instance, rather than simply how to do this. Let’s start with this: SQL-EM, select master database, properties, ‘Options’. The entire ‘Access’ section is grayed out, ie. not changable. I also attampted to open the services properties for this instance and add the ‘-m’ to the service ‘Startup Parameters’ and this does not work either. Is there something we are missing?
