The bugcheck was: 0x000000d1 on SQL Cluster

Folks, We have SQL 2000 cluster running on Win2k Advanaced with OS service pack 3 and SQL SP2. The cluster has been running smoothly for more than 6 months. The active node crashed and cluster failed over to passive node. In the evnet log the system log had following error: The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck. The bugcheck was: 0x000000d1 If anyone can shed some insight on it will be highly appreciated. Thanks in advance! Regards

Any third party applications on the server like anti-virus, backup or monitoring? Is all your hardware on the Windows Hardware Compatibility List (HCL)?

Also check your cluster log to see what happened. This error message is very general, and more data is needed to help out. —————————–

This was an interesting problem as there was nothing in the logs (Event–>System, scurity, application, cluster logs, etc.). The memory dump was analyzed and it was pointing to TDI.sys. We also had BMC monitoring available and that helped too. The problem was noticed in TCP Connections failures and as the count was more than 23,000. It seems there is problem in TCP/IP stack of Win2k. See the link below: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?kbid=811044 The fix is included in Win2k SP4 and we are planning to apply SP4.
