Transactional Repl with Instant Update Supscriber

Can anyone help with a problem with Transactional Replication with Instant Updating Subscribers?
The problem is on the subscriber. I can do an "insert" on any and all tables. I can do an "update" only on some tables and on others I get an error as follows: Server: Msg 170, Level 15, State 1, Line 2
Line 2: Incorrect syntax near ‘)’.
Server: Msg 137, Level 15, State 1, Line 5
Must declare the variable ‘@c116o’. Has anyone run into this before? Any ideas? Thanks for your help. David Wilson
