Windows Clustering

Is it possible to set up a windows 2000 cluster without a shared disk (SCSI of Fibre channel)?
When I set up my Windows 2000 Server as a cluster node with the cluscfg.exe -localqorum program, I can install the first node without a shared disk, but when I try to join my second node I get an error message: Unexpected setup error The system cannot find file specified Error ID: 2 (000000002) Can you pls give me advice
No, you must have a shared array with either a SCSI or fiber connection. The only exception to this is if you use Virtual Server 2005, but that is for testing only, not for production. —————————–

Thank you very much for this info. My plan is to set up a test environment to check if our application is working within a cluster and so don’t want to spend a lot of money for this test. What is the easiest/cheapest way I set up a scared disk.
Is a normal SCSI disk enough?

Officially, only SCSI devices on Microsoft’s Hardware Compatability list can be used. Unofficially, a simple SCSI disk will probably work for a test (but not guaranteed.) —————————–

If you have an MSDN license you could set up clustering with Virtual Server 2005 for testing purposes.
