Error Message:
Msg 5058, Level 16, State 6, Line 2
Option ‘%.*ls’ cannot be set in database ‘%.*ls’.

Severity level:
16.

Description:
This error message appears when you try to use an invalid option for a database.

Consequences:
The T-SQL statement can be parsed, but causes the error at runtime.

Resolution:
Errors of the Severity Level 16 are generated by the user and can be fixed by the SQL Server user. The statement cannot be executed this way. The invalid option must be removed from the statement.

Versions:
All versions of SQL Server.

Example(s):
USE master;
ALTER DATABASE model SET EMERGENCY;
GO

Remarks:
In the above example we try to use the option SET EMERGENCY on the model system database. Because this option is not allowed for the model database, the error is raised.
