Hi there are lots of third party tools like LightSpeed, Read-Gate Which will Improve SQL backup perfomance
Definitely LiteSpeed, if you can fit it into your budget. Reduces our backup size by 1/3 and does the same for restore times. We can't do business without it. Mel Lusk MCDBA, MCTS
We are using Red-Gate SQL Backup, and we are backing up about 1.5TB in 2.5hrs with an anverage compression rate of 80%. In my opinion, this is the best value for money and it works like a dream.
