backup restore help

    Hi Champs I need some suggestion can you guys give me some ideas how to improve the backup and restore performance of the whole environment.I know it depnds on evironment to environment but i just need some general ideas. Thank YOu have a happy holidays.

    there are lots of third party tools like
    LightSpeed, Read-Gate
    Which will Improve SQL backup perfomance

    Definitely LiteSpeed, if you can fit it into your budget. Reduces our backup size by 1/3 and does the same for restore times. We can't do business without it.

    We are using Red-Gate SQL Backup, and we are backing up about 1.5TB in 2.5hrs with an anverage compression rate of 80%. In my opinion, this is the best value for money and it works like a dream.
