Best replication mode to use?

I currently have a dedicated SQL Server (2 CPUs, 3 gig RAM) with about 20 simultanious connections.

I want to setup a replicator an another server (same hardware) so I have a full real-time backup copy of the master database (if the main server crash, we'll swith to the backup server rapidly, so, no loss of production). Also, that second server will be use to run huge SP's for reporting and table cleaning.

What is the best replication mode to use? I red somewhere that the Transactional Replicator is the best I could use for my needs, is it right?

Also, does the replicator will harm the performance of the main server?

    thanks a lot,
