Compress SQL Server backups using WinZip–Part 1&2

SQL Server Database Administrators often run out of space due to huge backup files that have been retained on the disk. This article illustrates how to take full and transaction log backups and compress the backup files using the reasonably priced WinZip.

I always to have such compressed utilities on a SQL server, they tend to crunch the resources when the time comes to perform well by SQL. Always better to use WINZIP from other file server than on SQL server alone.
