Database mirroring in two xp machine?

    Guys,
    I have 2 xp machine (SP2), one is in physical machine and another in vmware over the same machine. I installed SQL server developer edition (sp3) in both the machine and try to mirror a database. After set up the mirror, i start the mirror button, it thow error. Bothe the machines are NOT in domine, it is using a common local user to start the SQL service. The user is like (first server ipuser1, second server ip user1), since i created a user in both the machine but IP's are ofcorse different. Do it the proble? if yes how can we resolve this issue?

    I am sure this is just a test environment [;)].
    Patch SQL Server with latest service pack.
    If, you are able to ping the machine, Try giving the ip address in place of name before clicking on start mirroring button.

    A simple test of connectivity from one instance to another instance is successful then DB Mirroring will be too, in order to do that you can logon to each machines and from SSMS connect to other instance.
