Hi Guys, i'm having same problem as most of you, but still going to ask few Questions, i tried to set up Mirroring(on sql server 2005 with SP1) both from Mgmt Studio and TSQL, but no luck. I have following questions:
1=> from Mgmt Studio getting error when trying to connect Mirror server, to me it make sense as database is already in No recovery mode so can't connect, so did you guys worked out this point?

2=> from TSQL script, when run this statement
alter database AdventureWorks SET PARTNER = 'TCP://myserver:5022'
get same error that can connect to server

    Any help would be appreciated.

I am a newbie too on this database mirroring but it is working for me although I am still in a very simple and begining stage. You need to make sure that you use fully qualified name for your server, ie. tcp://servername.domainname<img src='/community/emoticons/emotion-4.gif' alt=':p' />ort.<br /><br />Also try a different port number like 6677 or something that is open or not blocked in your network security setup.<br /><br />Wingman

I also did have this problem, when i write this at Mirror side
    "ALTER DATABASE AdventureWorks
    SET PARTNER = 'TCP://PRINCIPALTEST:5022' --Server pointer "

, it enable to connect n works to me. But when i write it at Principal side

    "ALTER DATABASE AdventureWorks
    SET PARTNER = 'TCP://MIRRORTEST:5022 -- Mirror pointer'

    , it wrote
    "Msg 1418, Level 16, State 1, Line 1
The server network address "TCP://MIRRORTEST:5022" can not be reached or does not exist. Check the network address name and that the ports for the local and remote endpoints are operational."

Can anyone able to help me to solve this problem please? Thx a lot ~
