I'm very new to SSIS and have been trying hard to learn it by following some tutorials I found on the web. I need some help with my first exercise. :) I'm importing an Excel spreadsheet to a SQL table.
I have a date column in Excel file and SSIS is detecting it as DT_DATE. On my target table, it is DT_DBTIMESTAMP. When I run it, it is saying, conversion between DT_DATE and DT_DBTIMESTAMP is not supported.
I'm also getting a DTS.Pipeline component SQL Server Destination (63) failed validation and returned validation status "VS_ISBROKEN".
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Neil

Wooohooo!!! I got it to work. I added data conversion between my Excel Source and SQL Server Destination. [:D]

Nice to hear that you got it. When ever you are treating with two different formats (Excel and SQL) you need to convert it according to the target database.
Excel supports Unicode and SQL supports Ascii formats.
