This board looks a lot more friendly and informative than the sqlteam forum.
A lot of MVP's to snatch some knowledge off of. That and the cockiness from members such as Merkin and JSmith and many others is great to get away from on that sqlteam forum.

I must admit that I also post from time to time on SQL-Team.com. But every time I visit, I do have my share of problems to deal with the forum spirit there. There are certainly many knowledgeable people over there, but to me it seems as if some self-congratulatory cliques take over the regime from time to time. That's sad and unnecessary as there are lot of good replies there. You hardly won't find this here. Although we certainly also do enjoy a joke now and then. []

Anyway, welcome here! Frank,

I must admit that I sometimes skip the answer because I can't formulate my opinion clearly enough but still politely. I think besides knowledge you posses this is a great skill I need to work on. Your post explains exactly my feeling about that forum.

genius [)]

Totally agree with Frank and I put myself as a best example to stay on this forum (since 2003) b'cos of bunch of good members.... I used to participate more in SQLMag forums but due to the fact that forums site performanmce has gone down to sea bottom and questions are more common to answer.

I would say that here now and then you get relevant responses to the questions where you won't find on any other existing SQL forums. The knowledge sharing is balanced here, as you can experience valuable suggestions by a bunch of people.

I have also found it more [] in here. Keep up the good work!

"Okey dokey... free my mind. Right, no problem, free my mind, free my mind, no problem, right... "

I like all the forums. I also wish I had more time to participate. [] You get a pretty wide variety of resources and knowledge by reading multiple forums, as most people tend to focus on one for their posting. Joe is a great resource here. Frank.....well, he posts everywhere. lol It's always fun great reading his posts though and learning from him.

Tara Kizer and some others post and blog on sqlteam. I have learned a lot from here, and really enjoy watching her develop. She's come a long ways since her first posts on that site.

MeanOldDBA
derrickleggett@hotmail.com

When life gives you a lemon, fire the DBA.
