how to fix cluster with different patch levels on each node

    Hi
    I've discovered that a sql 2005 cluster we have has got one node patched to sp2 and the other is not patched.
    Also the unpatched version seems to be missing management tools as I can't create maintenance plans.
    Is it safe to fail over to the patched node and then patch the unpatched node? If not then how should I best proceed?
