MS PerfMon SQL Counters - Help!

    Hi there,

I want to use BigBrother to monitor my system including the health of my SQL Server 2000 Databases running under W2k. Therefore I have found a VBscript that simply uses the PerfMon counters.
Now before installing it all I just used PerfMon directly to see whats happening, e.g. if I restart the SQL Server Service. Basically after the restart I do not see any SQL Server related counter at all (though after rebooting they are there again). Do I have to restart another service or take any other action? Or do I try to get a third party s/w...
    Thanks in advance!

    Hello Luis,
Thank you for your quick answer!
Yes, there is an entry in the errorlog of SQL Server: "Performance monitor shared memory setup failed: -1"
    Any ideas?

    Hi again,
I think I solved my problem. After searching the MS Knowledge Base I found that apparently this is one of the (numerous) bugs of Windows / Sql Server.
Voilà the solution for those who are affected by the same problem:

Again thanks Luis for your quick answer...
C U soon (Methinks I didn't have the last SQL Server related problem....)

    Sebastian
