I am looking for a versy simple tool to simple monitor our ms sql dbs : I mean by simple monitor :

    - checking if db is up.
    - checking that there are no errors in : jobs, log...
    - checking space, file extentions...

Anyone know a tool doing this. I tried SQLCentric but I am not really satistied ...

What issues you're having with Enterprise Manager & event viewer which are pre-installed with every Windows & SQL?

If the task is simply to monitor the logs and database status why to use third party tools.

You can use SQL Stripes (<a href='www.sqlstripes.com' target='_blank' title='www.sqlstripes.com'>www.sqlstripes.com</a>) which provides solutions to the problems raised and to many other needs. (We're talking <b>DBA</b> needs so don't get too excited [<img src='/community/emoticons/emotion-2.gif' alt=':D' />])
