Hi all, the reporting services checkbox was greyed out when I installed, and I got a couple of warning signs, about my hardware, and IIS. Do I need IIS for Reporting Services, and if so, is this freely available from MS? Cheers, Jaybee.
Yes you need IIS for reporting services. You can install IIS from relevent OS instalation. Enble the IIS from windows programmes
That's great! Just for everyone's info, you need your OS installation files to enable IIS, and you do this from the Ctrl Panel Components section. Another question; I also plan to allow this installation of 2005 to co-exist with 2K, should I pick 'Named Instance' and call it something distinct?
If you are just developing reports then you dont need IIS. You just need Visual Studio. If you want to host the reports then you need IIS.
