Query the distributer DB

Hi there,
Are there any queries for looking into the distributer database to find out it's content. I'm getting 1-2 million transactions on two publications and I'd like to know if these are inserts, updates or deletes etc. I'm on SQL2005 standard edition 64 bit.

Also, I'm finding the history of replicated transactions disappears pretty fast unlike SQL2000.
