The "PF Usage" chart in Task Manager shows: 8.58 GB.
The "Total paging file size for all drives" in performance options is: 3672 MB.
How should I understand it? Is the system using more pagefile space that it is configured to?

Could you confirm that using Performance Monitor?.
I don't trust in Task Manager.

    Thanks for the link.
I understand that the PF Usage value, despite its name, represents a combined total of the physical memory and page file. That solves my problem.
    Luis and Satya:
What Performance Monitor counter can I use to check page file usage?
And BTW - how should I ask - 'which counter ...' or 'what counter ...'?
