I have inherited a system in which service broker is enabled. I wastaking a look in perfmon and saw under sqlserver:broker statistics:: sqlreceive total was about 30k then looking into sqlserver:broker activation::task limit reached was about 15k. I am not sure if these counters are directlyrelated. I took a look in sys.service_queues to find out that the max_readerswere set to 0.From what I can understand I am causing my own bottleneck by onlyallowing 1 queue reader.
First question is does 0 mean infinite in this case? Second question dependson the answer to the first. If 0 truly means 0 and I can not have any concurrencythen do I need to set max_readers higher so I do not keep going over the"task limit"?
