SQL 2005 CU11 Error

    Hi,
    I have an SQL 2005 SP3 Ent Ed engine installed on an Windows Server 2003 Ent SP2 O/S. I am trying to apply CU11 (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2258854/) however it fails with the following error:
    A recently applied update, KB2258824, failed to install.
    MSP Error: 29534 Service 'MSSQL$BACKUP_SRV' could not be started. Verify that you have sufficient privileges to start system services. The error code is (1814) The specified resource name cannot be found in the image file.
    Can anyone shed a light?

    Have you tested the CU11 on testing platform or is this a dev. platform?
    Also check the privileges for the user/login that is attempted to apply the CU fix.
