    I have modified by Blog after a feedback from Ken Henderson, personally I was amazed his indepth feedback [<img src='/community/emoticons/emotion-1.gif' alt=':)' />].<br /><br /><hr noshade size="1"><b>Satya SKJ</b><br />Microsoft SQL Server MVP<br />Contributing Editor & Forums Moderator<br /<a target="_blank" href=http://www.SQL-Server-Performance.Com>http://www.SQL-Server-Performance.Com</a><br /><center><font color="teal"><font size="1">This posting is provided AS IS with no rights for the sake of <i>knowledge sharing.</i></font id="size1"></font id="teal"></center>

Did you ever get this to work? I got one report to work, the real-time status report. It looks like a great tool but it needs a read me file or something.

Appreciate your feedback, can you please specify what exactly it is asking.<br />I have had a chat with Ken Henderson in this case and he thinks if the reporting services are setup properly it shouldn't query about it.<br /><br />On the top, isn't this a great tool for DBA [<img src='/community/emoticons/emotion-1.gif' alt=':)' />].<br /><br /><hr noshade size="1"><b>Satya SKJ</b><br />Microsoft SQL Server MVP<br />Contributing Editor & Forums Moderator<br /<a target="_blank" href=http://www.SQL-Server-Performance.Com>http://www.SQL-Server-Performance.Com</a><br /><center><font color="teal"><font size="1">This posting is provided AS IS with no rights for the sake of <i>knowledge sharing.</i></font id="size1"></font id="teal"></center>

I agree it seems to be a great tool if I can ever get it to work.

Here is where the problem starts.

Once you have specified connection info, SQL Nexus will ask whether you would like to start real-time data collection. Real-time data collection allows SQL Nexus to monitor your system as events occur rather than after the fact. Choosing Yes will cause SQL Nexus to start SQL Server#%92s SQLDiag diagnostics collector and begin logging diagnostics data in the data warehouse. It will also enable auto-update for the current report as you use SQL Nexus. Auto-update means that SQL Nexus will periodically update whichever report you are currently viewing in order to take into account new data being added to the Diagnostics Data Warehouse by SQLDiag.

The items in red never happen for me.

Same here... downloaded it and ran it against an Enterprise version of 2005 and it only barely works. I can't get the data collection portion of the app to work (it looks like pieces may be missing from the download).

Any update from Ken would be apprecciated as this looks like a fairly neat tool...

    Edit:

Also appears that when you try to connect using Standard Auth it is broken. The correct password does not connect and returns an incorrect password error. [V]

    Guys
I have got a reply from Ken, nothing exciting:

    quote:
This help text refers to an unimplemented feature in the app. Please disregard it. Real-time collection is not yet implemented.

I have enquired again to see when this feature will be enabled, once the Blog software is corrected I will input the same on my blog too.

Well, thanks for the effort in getting a answer. I hope he does complete it. As I said before it looks like a great tool.

    Hi All,
Any follow up on the SQL Nexus tool?
  15. satya Moderator

When I had met Ken Henderson in last pass event, he mentioned to check his website khen.com in this case.... but nothing more is developing on that aspect.

Just came across that tool which seems to work straight away in my case.
I had a quick look around but could not spot whether it is possible to point at another machine.
I would like to look at a server without installing anything on it. Possible?
    Thanks
