SQL Server Agent Permissions Problem - Backup

    Hi,
    I have a maintenance plan that has been running for months that backs up the database to a remote share. Now the job is failing due to Operating System 5 not found error. Now I know this is a permissions thing but the problem is that the account the agent is running under has access to write to the share ( I tested this logged onto the box using this account and used cmd line to navigate to the share and create files!).
    Anyone have any ideas?!?!?! Any ideas welcome!

    What about to delete and recreate the job (sometimes what we suggest to new "user" work with as)[:)].
