SQL Server Performance

Switching database to another sql server 7.0

    My company currently have 2 sql server 7.0 running. Now they would want to only have 1 sql server 7.0 running and either one have to being shut down. How can I copy one of the server to another server? What steps should I follow, backup and restore it, replicate or any better suggestion? Can please also tell the detail steps on perfomring this task? I'm still quite a newbie in this area...
