My manager wanted me to investigate Red Gate's Software SQL Log Rescue. It looks like something that we would want, however, it only works for SQL Server 2000. Is there anything out there like it for SQL Server 2005? Are there any transaction log viewers that anyone can recommend? Does Microsoft have one like Red Gate's SQL Log Rescue?
Log Explorer is a very good tool for sql 2000. But on their website its mentioned that it also supports SQL Server 2005 32-bit. So you could try the trial version. http://www.lumigent.com/products/le_sql_platform.html
As referred by Ranjit either you can go with Log explorer or APEXSQL's tool too http://www.sql-server-performance.com/software/review/apex_log_p1.aspx in this case.
Thanks for both your responses. Just out of curiosity (because the company that I work for is cheap) is there anything out there that is free? Please don't laugh. I know the answer is probably no but I have to ask.
None other than log rescue above [], and if you can specify your actual requirement you can achieve what you want.
