use net send to send meesage when alert fired?

    Hi All
    if anyone knows how to use net send to send a message to DBA if an alert fired? for example: hardware fails with severity level 24. we want to know it but we don't use sqlagentmail function on sql server 2000. or is there any way to notify DBA?

    any idea will be very appreciated. thanks,
