8) Finally when you execute this report in the Report Builder, you should be able to view the change in the report. Save this report and navigate to report manager, and open this report, and it should look like the below screenshot.

If you look carefully at the report, the data points are now grouped based on continents. And those continents and their associated graphic can be seen in the legends section. The color rule can be seen on the bottom left side of the map, and if you compare the value of the data point to the color assigned to it, you will find it meaningful. You can always modify the color scheme to reflect your target values mapped to color value.

Coming to the last part of our action item, we need some actionable items on the data points and for this we have defined the wiki field. Modify the point layer properties and associate this field in the Actions tab. Then, execute the report and if you click on the “Taj Mahal” data point, a new tab will open in the browser and you should be able to see the url we stored for this record.

There are a lot of properties associated with layers and the map control which is beyond the scope o this article. With proper modification to these properties, you can make your map look similar to the below map. It really depends upon one’s creativity, to represent the data in most appealing and analyzable format. We would look in detail at all those properties in the next part of this series.
