Installing SQL Server 2000 Clustering

11) Now we come to the part of the installation that should look familiar to you. It is the standard setup screen for SQL Server 2000. In this case, I am going to choose a “Custom” install. Note the “Destination Folder” locations on this screen. You should not have to change these. If you do, then you mostly likely have made some mistake earlier in the setup process. The SQL Server 2000 “Program Files” are to be installed on the local disk of each node, NOT on the shared array. The “Data Files” location is the one you previously indicated earlier in the setup process where you specified which drive that the SQL Server 2000 database files would be located. When done, click “Next,” and this screen appears:

12) Select which components you want to install. Don’t install options, such as replication, if you won’t be using them. Click “Next,” and this screen appears:

13) Enter the SQL Server 2000 service account information here, as you would do for any SQL Server installation. Click “Next,” and this screen appears:

14) Choose the appropriate authentication mode for your situation. Click “Next,” and this screen appears:

15) Choose the appropriate SQL Collation. Click “Next,” and this screen appears:
