Description:
This error message appears when you try to create a secondary XML index on a column for which no primary XML index exists.
Consequences:
The T-SQL statement can be parsed, but causes the error at runtime.
Resolution:
Errors of the Severity Level 16 are generated by the user and can be fixed by the SQL Server user. The statement cannot be executed this way. In order to create a secondary XML index a primary XML index must exists.

In the above example we try to create a secondary XML index on the column c1. Because there is no primary XML index for that column, the error is raised.
