Save Time (and Money) With SQL Sentry Event Manager

Event Manager integrates external event data into calendars alongside SQL Server Agent jobs and gives you unprecedented visibility and control over all of the events that can impact your server’s performance. The following screen shot shows the event connector architecture.

Event Manager connector modules allow popular external systems, including backup, defragment, antivirus, and others, to be integrated and easily managed through the Event Manager Console. Event Manager automatically brings all of these events together and displays them on its unified calendar, so you get the whole picture.

Installation

Installation of Event Manager is fairly simple for the average DBA. During installation, it gathers all the information from you. In addition to the basic information that any installer needs, you will need to supply the server credentials for the database that Event Manager is going to create, SMTP details for sending notifications by e-mail, license information, etc. Because you are providing this information at the installation, installation will require a little time to complete—about 15 minutes if you have all the information at hand. Configuration will take less time to complete.
